In its first Tech draw Ontario PNP invites 1,623 Express Entry Candidates
On July 12, 2019, the Canadian province of Ontario has conducted its first technology-based draw, welcoming a total of 1,623 applicants with eligible work experience to apply for a province-related nomination for Canadian permanent residency. The Ontario PNP also is known as Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) had already announced in the early part of this month that it would commence with its Tech draws to meet the growing labor shortages of the felt in the tech sector of Ontario. Those candidates who were invited for the July 12 draw were basically candidates with Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores that were ranging from 439 to 459.
To qualify as a potential applicant for this draw are required to have created an Express Entry profile between the period of July 12, 2018, and July 12, 2019. This July 12 Human Capital Priorities stream draw of this (Ontario) Canada PNP Program witnessed invitations that were issued to candidates who had even managed to score as low as 439 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores. One of the best parts about this provincial nomination-based draw is that Ontario is not only a naturally abundant province for Permanent resident Canada but is also home to numerous Canadian technology hubs, especially in the cities of Toronto, Ottawa, and Waterloo.
Tech companies situated in the Canadian province of Toronto have managed to create more job opportunities for overseas immigrants, than that in San Francisco Bay area in 2017, according to the CBRE Group, the world’s largest commercial real estate service. In this draw, Ontario will be focusing on six key tech-based occupations namely:
1. Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
2. Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
3. Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
4. Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
5. Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)
6. Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)
To qualify, as a candidate you should meet the current Human Priorities Stream (HCP) requirements along with a strong work history in one of the abovementioned occupations within the tech sector. Applicants who are chosen from the Express Entry pool of candidates to be permanent resident Canada get a Notification of Interest through their Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) account. They must submit the full application with complete details with 45 days of the issuance of the notification.
